Can i apply to two different courses at Imperial College??
I've already applied to "Information System Engineering with 1 yr abroad", no offers yet.
I'm afraid that i'll be turned down because i don't have any foreign language courses other than English in my IB program, although i'm able to speak both French and Japanese.

Yes you can. Did you mean next year? it's late now unless you have a free space on your UCAS form.

You could also change course instead by getting in touch with Imperial, perhaps you should ring them anyway and let them know of your language abilities if it's not already in your reference or personal statement.
there shouldnt be any problem with changing the course, and if you can speak the foreign language you dont need to have an academic record of it....
Ive applied for two AND i mite aswel be changing the computing to maths + computing, doing both is perfectly fine aslong as you speak to the correct people

But does it increase your chances if you apply to different courses at the same university, for example Imperial? If not, does it make any sort of difference what so ever??

You can apply to different courses at Imperial if you want. It should make no difference to your chances of getting an offer.

yeah you can apply to any number of different courses at Imperial,
I actually applied to 6 courses at imperial this year( that was a mistake but I didn't know the UCAS system very well) but remember that a department can only give you one offer ( I unknowingly applied for 4 courses in the maths department so I only got 1 offer, however they sent me a mail saying I had a few days to change my offer to another course of the department before they sent it to UCAS)

I want to apply for Biomedical engineering. So how about applying for MEng as well as BEng for the same course. Because the BEng offers tend to be a bit lower. But wouldn't the admission officer catch onto this?

I believe Imperial automatically consider you for the BEng course if you don't make the MEng offer, so applying a second time would waste an offer. A friend applied twice for Chemical Engineering and ended up losing both offers; perhaps due to that, although I could be wrong.

Well It's weird actually because I had asked both Bsc and msci for maths/comp and in february I got "unsuccessful" for the BSc course only to get an offer a month or so later for the MSci course. So I don't think your friend did not get an offer due to that.
Maybe they automatically discard your BSc app if you ask MSci too.
On imperial's site they say that if you're unsure , it's better to ask MSci(if I remember well)

It's going to be the same admissions tutor for both MEng and BEng for a course anyway, so there's no point. You can usually change between them anyway, so apply for MEng.
