How did Chalk arise in the UK?

Hello everyone,

how did continntal drift has led to the presence of chalk deposits in the UK? I'm desperate to find an answer to this question. :frown:

Its probably the accosiation of the high sea levels from the start of the Late Cretaceous, Water currents and temperatures that help coccolithophores bloom.
