Right, I'm finally submitting my Student Finance application for 2011/2012. However, it wants my building society roll number. I'm with Cumberland Building Society and I haven't got a clue what my roll number is or where to find it.

I wiki'd it and they said a lot of building societies are discontinuing roll numbers. So, what is my roll number?

    Please answer, very important.

I'm in the same situation as yourself, what did you end up doing?

If you have a sort code and account number, you don't have a roll number. Roll numbers were used back when there was one sort code and account number for the whole building society, most building societies don't work that way now.
