Honestly, I can't stress this enough... Halls are what you make them! It's not the building or location that makes a place sociable, it's the people! Just go and have fun and make the most of it!

p.s. I was in Carnatic and it was AMAZING. Although my friends in Greenbank thought the same of their halls too!

spot on. I'd definitely go for Carnatic/Greenbank and don't let Catered/Catching a bus put you off.

If you want a 5 minute walk from the uni and city and a hyped halls go to Cambridge Court. I am put off by the bus, I really can't be bothered to travel on it/work my time around it.

The bus really isn't an issue. They are really regular, reliable, cheap(ish) and, weirdly, a nice way to socialise and meet people! Plus they go into the city centre at night and at weekends! In terms of timings, it makes you more organised and prepared, or at least it did me. Rather than rolling out of bed 10 mins before a lecture, I was up a good hour before, got the bus 20 mins before my lectures started and was only late once, due to snow!

The Uni and City are about 20 mins walk apart. There is accommodation in the city centre, really close to campus or out in the wider areas like Wavertree, Greenbank or Mossley Hill. Wherever you live, you're always going to need to walk somewhere to get from A to B or get a bus that can drop you from A to B to C. No fuss.
