I'm filling in an app form for KCL for MSc and one section is:

We would appreciate if you could give details of any other postgraduate programmes you are applying to.

Should I leave it blank or fill it in? Why are they asking this?

Maybe to check how dedicated you are (i.e. you're applying for the same courses everywhere)?

I'd be applying for the same course at Manchester, Leeds and Kings.

It is more for their own marketing purposes; to see which universities they are in competition with. Sometimes I filled it in. Sometimes I did not.

Do you think it will affect your chances in anyway?

No. But if you don't want to tell them, just leave that field blank.

Unis usually ask this for marketing purposes to find out which other unis they're competing against for students. It looks good to put down at least one other application to show dedication to further study in the field and that you're not desperate to be considered by them. Having said that though I highly doubt your putting or not putting something down for that question would affect your chances at getting onto the course. Even if it does, it will not be a deciding factor-your qualifications, personal statement, achievements, etc will be.

Good luck!

You could always e-mail the admissions office and ask how far along in the process they are in accepting students onto the course. At least that will give you an indication as to what the normal waiting time is for a reply and it will also help you find out whether or not they have filled most or all of the places on the course already.
