Hi
I think my Educational Studies course starts late September (the 26th?), but my family want to go on holiday abroad late August/early September. We're looking at returning on the 9th at the moment which is fine in terms of not missing the start of the course, but when do people normally move? I know there'll be things like Fresher's Week, so people won't arrive like the day before their course, so I was just wondering if anyone knew for definite. Or even had a vague idea...

Heyyyy
My course (early childhood studies) starts September 26th too, or could be the 27th, one of these dates haha! I was thinking this too, im really unsure about when to move! Are you thinking about staying in halls or uni managed housing?

Im thinking uni managed housing, a few of my friends are in halls now and when I've been to visit them it didn't really appeal to me, this is just my opinion however, as I don't really like the idea of catered

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the catered idea either... I think halls will be good for meeting people though.

Me neither... and I'm not even sure about halls any more. I'd have to save up a lot of money over the holidays, and Uni-managed are so much cheaper...

Okay so 1. i ate in the canteen this week what the halls residents would normally have - poor choice of food and tastes like school food, cheap and dry. Also 2. if you live in halls you move in the weekend before your course starts. Uni managed housing you move in the week before so you have a week to enjoy yourself, go out socialise etc. Then party for freshers. my friends from halls HATED it when we were already in scarbs getting to know each other coz they felt left out and oly had freshers week to get to know the place.
