Hey everyone.
I'm in a bit of a dilemma here, I wish to study history at a top university such as Durham and my current four subjects are History, Economics, Spanish and Graphic Communication (Art Graphics)

Art happens to be my favourite subject and I am predicted an A in it this year. My query however, is that I believe top universities don't tend to look at is as a worthy A level. So I'm wondering if if I should drop it after my AS exam and focus more on the other three subjects, as there would be less of a workload.

However as i said earlier it's my favourite subject so I'm unsure.
Your opinions and thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, personally I don't think you should drop it. I am a bit biased as i'm going to uni to study Graphics next year =p but still, you say its your favourite subject and you're doing well in it.The universities shouldn't really mind that 1 out of your 4 subjects is a creative subject. Your other subjects are considered 'academic' anyway so I don't think it will matter if you have a Graphics a-level =) Also it might just show the unis that you have interests outside of History!
Hope this helps a bit =)

You should contact the unis and ask if they see Art as a suitable A level

if your degree has nothing to do with art then DROP IT. it is so much work that it it will either mess up your other subjects or youll be forced to get a worse grade in art in order to do well in the others or you'll have no life outside of work.
its honestly not worth it, the workload at a level is more than at AS level as well

if you really enjoy it then just keep going and get a good grade cos it'll show a range of different subjects

and doing 4 at the same time instead of 3 looks better too

it'd be different if you hated it, then just drop it

Every uni will accept it as an A Level...I'm doing it at the moment and I got 5 offers from top universities, for Pharmacology.

Thanks for the answer, still finding it difficult to decide.
Congratulations on the offer, what universities if you don't mind me asking?
