I have hair similar to yours (though not as straight), and this is similar to my current hairstyle. I use Brylcreem Styling Clay (better hold than most other products, and none of that greasy/oily look).
My hair is also a bit shorter on the sides, so I don't have that parting that's in the picture...

yeah thats pretty good
was thinking along those lines
longer hair annoys me :/

You could blur it a bit or something lol. It's just some people have the kind of features that suit longer hair, or more square hair etc.

I think it needs to have more going on at the top rather than being long at the sides and laying flat, also that would probably make you look a little older. I think the sides need to be shorter than the length on top, you just need to stay away from a 'justin-bieberish' round cut. Something as simple as short-back-and-sides would make a big difference!

thats what i had last time
just got lazy and never had it trimmed
