What is "I"? Do you consider "yourself" to be physical or mental? Discuss

What is a person is the summation of how their brain works, and how it processes, as well as genetics.

There is no evidence as to how personality develops, but IMO it's innate and never truly changes outside of major trauma (whether physiological or not).

I think that what you do is who you are. Your personality is in your actions, not your thoughts. people can have all sorts of grandiose opinions of themselves, but at the end of the day it is what you do that defines you.

I believe my self-consciousness to be a meta-physical sense connected to the brain in a dualistic like form hence damage to the brain can cause misrepresentation with the meta-physical self. However it does feel to be limited as in only being around my physical self, around a 2 meter diameter I retain spatial memory etc.

did you know that that trust develops in an infant at the breast the bible says I learnt to trust while at the breast

most people don;t realize how much it benefits children
children learn by how they are raised

most people learn how not to trust don't you think

I find it strange that in a thread discusses personal identity you have drifted off to quoting the Bible and how it says that breast feeding affects trust (!?) I also find it odd that your personal identity seems to lie within the words and laws of a book entirely separate from your body.

Personally, I believe that "I" am a compound of Brain and Body - rather like Dualism except I am not into the entire "mind" idea. To me, the brain is real and there and we can see how it interacts with the rest of the body. It influences a lot of what we do, and is the store of all our thoughts and beliefs.
