# Help calculating coursework marksWatch

#1
I need help with working out the score for my modules. I have a coursework that comprises of

(a) Book Review worth 30%
(b) Essay worth 70%.

I achieved a mark of 63% for the Book Review and 60% for the Essay. What would be my overall mark for the above coursework?

(a) 18.9
(b) 42

So basically 61%, just edging in to a 2:1 (in most situations)

Think i did that right 0.0
Now i think about it.. it seems more complicated than that..

Thanks. Could you please let me know what formulae you used to work out the marks. I can use the same formulae to work out my other marks.

63% of 30 = 18.9
60% of 70 = 42

You multiply your percentage in that module by the percentage that module is worth, so:

63% * 30% = 18.9%

60% * 70% = 42%

42+18.9 = 60.9%
