I had an interview at Morrisons and the first thing the interviewer asked was if I was in higher education.

I didn't wanna lie so I say yes but I would be able to work on weekends, is that a red light for employers since students don't stick around for long?

Completely depends on what hours they specifically need.

Plus, why would you only be able to work on weekends?
Most degree's are only (averaging it out) like 2-3 hours formal lectures etc a day.

because the store I'm applying at is at my home address and going back and forth just for a few hours a day isn't worth it.
