When I'm practicing for my French speaking exam, I'm finding that I'm repeating these two phrases far too often.

Can anybody suggest some alternatives for me to learn?

Thanks

To be honest, the fact that you've come up with "en plus" is a lot more than the average GCSE or A-level student comes up with!

But here are a few suggestions anyway:
d'ailleurs/de plus/en outre - what is more
à cela s'ajoute - in addition there is
il en est de même - the same is true
on notera au passage - we must note in passing
on peut également constater - one can also see
à noter également que - it is also worth noting that
encore faut-il noter que - it must also be noted that
de/par surcroît - besides
par ailleurs - furthermore
aller de pair avec - to go hand in hand with

All taken from the book: Mot à mot. It's really good for advanced French vocab.

Right, all of that French is probably incorrect so I'll just ask my question in English haha

I know how to say a specific year, such as 2011, but I don't suppose you know how to say a decade, as in the 1990s, or the 1980s etc...?

Thanks again!

That made perfect sense to me!

You say "dans les années [insert number here]," so in the 60s would be "dans les années soixante."
