I have got offers from both Nottingham (for BA economics with chinese studies) and SOAS (forBSc development economics); I am really interested in development economics especially about china and south East Asia. Had always thought that SOAS was where I wanted to go but not sure now because SOAS has a lot of negative feedbacks. Also, I do want to get a decent job out of it and not sure how employers view the two uni. Advice would be most appreciated!

If you want to work in development then I would say SOAS. The negative feedback tends to be a few trolls on the internet who seem to have an obsession with putting down SOAS. I have never heard anything bad about SOAS and in the development field it does have a very good reputation.

SOAS seems to fit your interests very well.

Like what?

Also, if you do end up going to SOAS, I strongly suggest that you switch to BSc Economics (easily done) - and do development economics for postgrad if you're still interested. You can tailor your modules with as many development courses as you want, without 'limiting' yourself/future study.

Yeah my buddy did his masters in History and he even got a scholarship. He had nice things to say. The rest is nonsense. Just concentrate on your course if that is what you want to do. Inquire more into that aspect rather than all the nonsense.
