At the moment i don't know which formula to use for the median and don't understand which one should be used for certain data 1/2(n+1) or 1/2n. Interpolation is used for certain data but i get confused on what the formula is and what each symbol represents.
I have tried looking at books but i still don't get how to work out quartiles (Q1,Q2,Q3) and which method is used for certain data e.g grouped data?

Thanks

If n is large, use 1/2n, if not, use 1/2(n+1). It's a bit murky.

Sounds like you need to ask your teacher to explain the rest to you, I think - if walls of text were going to explain it to you, books would probably do the trick.
