I have heard many conflicting opinions on whether the grade boundaries are generally lower or higher in january than in june. On the one hand, some people say that people taking exams in january are mostly those taking it for the first time ( and some resitters) therefore the boundaries go down.....others say that due to the increased experience of those retaking, it is therefore harder to get a higher mark in january. What do you think?

I have heard these ideas myself (from teachers) but whatever the truth is I don't expect that it makes more difference than one or two UMS points, so I wouldn't worry about it.
