I really think the stress at school is getting to me - you all might find it silly and stupid but I don't know what to do.....my teachers keep going on about it saying 'its less than a month for your january exams get revising' or 'do other teachers homework at school and do mine at home' - it's getting to the point that I really, really just want to tell the teacher to shove off and leave me alone and let me deal with it in my own way, but unfortunately she keeps going on and on about it I have 4 modules to do in January (2 history and 2 sociology) Sociology is coming along great but its just the History......I just want to cry and get it over with, but I really do think I'm gonna crack up over it does anyone know any stress relieving methods such as breathing exercises etc? please help and thank you even for reading this, even if you do find it stupid and silly xoxo
It's not stupid to feel stressed at all!! I feel really sorry for you as exams are the thing that make me feel sick whenever i think about them. History must be a really difficult subject to revise for too. First of all you have to prioritise - if there's a piece of history homework or revision - however hard/boring it is just get it out of the way before your other subjects to at least shut your teacher up on that front. Tecahers can really lay pressure on sometimes and you just have to try and blank it out if it's stressing you. Take some deep breaths and keep doing little bits of revision every day - say 10 minutes every morning or a couple of facts each day and you'll feel a lil bit more confident. Good luck with your exams in January! xxx
Aww tammy you don't have to feel stupid at all, I know EXACTLY how you feel. I don't think you should be rude and attitudey to your teachers though, cos that probably won't do you any favours. Theres no polite way to tell your teacher to shove off, so you may have to just rise above it, ignore her and focus on your own work rather than what she wants you to do. You can't let the nagging and pressure get to you, because its their job to do it and I doubt theyll ever stop.
As for the stress, if you find yourelf getting stressed when you're working, then take some time out and chill, listen to some cheerful music or something. Come back to your work with a fresh mind and you'll find yourself much less stressed out. Please don't get yourself worried over these exams, they are important but you'll find in the long term that being stressed won't actually help you. Remember that there are other (way more fun!) things in life other than Hitler!
You could try talking to your form tutor about it. They could maybe just have a word with the other teachers and get them to stopm putting so much pressure on you.
Aww honey you sound really bogged down...all those sad faces Tell your teachers you have your own way of revising, see if you can maybe get an extension if there's a big piece of work that's due? Eat some chocolate, talk with your mates and take some you-time - if you're feeling that low while you're working, it's not gonna do much to help with your exams. Have a long, hot, relaxing bath - i find that always helps me a bit. If you're feeling really, really low, talk to someone. We're all here for you!! xxx *hug*
I have spoken to my form teacher and to the history teacher as well, but they won't listen I even asked if I could leave the subject but she said I wasn't allowed the only teacher who will listen is my common room teacher and she is going ballistic that its gotten this far she's dragging me out of the class and she gave me work to revise over for the two modules and she said I won't be going back until after the exams - she said I needed to chill out and she said that i'll be 'chilling out' in the study without the interference of the teacher....until after the two modular exams at least but thank you all for being understanding and not thinking I'm being silly over it......just don't know where to turn or what to do xoxo

no stress for me... even though i know that i have a pile of work to be done...
i've been where you are before...
just calm down... you'll be surprised how much work you can get done if you focus... not to mean that you're unfocused right now...
as for the teacher... *ditto* to what everyone else said...
come home... clear your homework/coursework... get some break... revise for exams... with past papers... one full past paper a day is good enough...
then just relax and do whatever you want...
once you see your marks on your past-papers start turning into an A, there will be a big fat smile on your face, guaranteed!

I had a bit of a 'mare last year with the January exams! I think the best way to stop yourself getting stressed is break down the topics into smaller ones. Say about an hour per double page spread form your text book or whatever! It can seem a bit of a mountain sometimes when you realise what you have to do! But really its not. Just break down the topics and spread it out over the next couple of weeks. Identify the problem areas that are giving you grief and see your teacher about them pronto. Also if things do go wrong, its not the end of the world (even though it can feel like it! ) cos you can always retake in the summer. Just don't ignore it cos that never solves anything!

I don't do maths anymore but I revised for GCSE by taking problems and trying to solve them. Write out how you solve things in big letters on sheets of paper. Then gradually try and solve the problems without using the text book to help. Same for business finance...write out key facts. What sort of format is the business finance test? Is it an essay type paper or shorter answers? Let me know (here or PM me) and then I could suggest things for that....

its work when u revise like that on subjects such as history. but how do you revise for maths and business finance?
past exam papers.
there will usually be a list on a website, which your teacher should be able to give you?
you can do the past paper, makr it yourself, go and see the teacher abot any problems. and do this for every single one. there are usually about 6 for each module, so by the end you have done loads!
