    is anyone working over christmas and new year?

    if so what benefits do you get for doing this?

    i want to work on boxing day as i think we get double pay and we get a £25 gift voucher too! but what is better to work xmas eve or boxing day?

    boxing day onwards, through to the end of january. you don't hear about people rushing out to the sales on xmas eve now, do you :p:

    Im working quite a lot of shifts over xmas but not boxing day, im working new years day instead, which is double pay. Wish we were getting gift vouchers!!

    well boxing day is a bank holidya dn xmas eve is a normal working day.

    yes, but bank holiday is also the first day of the new year sales...

    customer numbers are many times more on boxing day than xmas eve

    Lucky me i'm working Christmas day 12 to about 4:30 possibly a bit later, double pay and we get a gift. I miss out on the fun bit at home with the relatives.
    I either had to work New years eve or christmas day, the next thing i know is that my name was down for Christmas and i couldn't change days. :mad:

    im working 8 hour shifts xmas day and new years day for £18 an hour. Cant complain getting triple time

    Boxing Day is best, plus like others said, its a bank holiday so you'll get some sort of premium for that too!

    can't work christmas, thankfully, but will probably work xmas eve, new year's eve and new year's day. umm i believe i get higher pay for bank holidays (i.e. most of those days). worked boxing day last year and i think i got triple pay, which was cool.
