I have a test booked for next week at a test centre called chertsey, but it only opened 2 days ago.

is it a disadvantage to be sitting a test at such a new centre? will they be failing more people in order to keep pass rate down?! plus a couple of roads are shut locally so some of their routes are down... and they dont have many seeing as theyre so new!! this is my 2nd test and im so nervous already :frown:

well first off I cant really see how sitting a test at a new centre would be a disadvantage TBH; the DSA has no pass / fail quota and the likelihood is that routes have been planed weeks in advance; the examiners don’t set the routes they are told where to go so don’t worry, if you can drive well you will pass, if you cant you will just have to keep practicing and try again.

There is a disadvantage if your not used to road layouts to be honest.

I did a test at Weybridge, got 1 major and 1 minor because he took me over to Chertsey and I did this huge crossroads with a joke of a traffic light system

If you have good observation and you think logically you should be able to cope with anything. Good luck

I don't think there will be any disadvantage in that it's a new centre; why would they need to keep pass rates down? If you're good enough, you pass, if not, you fail, that's all there is to that; no quotas or anything.

The only disadvantage, as OMGWTF said is you may be unfamiliar with the roads. OK, you should be able to cope as long as you read the road markings, but with all the pressure already you might as well throw yourself a bone and do it somewhere you are familiar with.
Good luck!
