Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - the bit with the Child Catcher freaked me out.

Second would be The Exorcist (although it looks crumby nowadays), third would be The Shining.

the excorcist wasn't scary. we watched it a big group of us girls when we were 13, it was funny watching them all wet their pants.

Titanic is scary. rust, shipwrecks, boats, knowing the people are gonna die... scary as hell to me.

Thats wierd.

Anyway, one of the scariest was probably "the blob" and it really freaked me out. Especially the scene of the blob digesting a half rotten police inside its translucent/transparent body.

ok, ok a more conventional scary film would be 28 Days later. It's so jumpy and haunting.

yeah, and i watched it again recently to see if i was wrong and i wasnt. Whats the bit about that funny archiologicl dig thing all about, and why at the end does that statue rise out of the shadows- cos i culdn't see any connection between it and the girl. just plain odd.

i think they attempted to make the girl seem scary, although i am not quite sure.

just seemed really child like - i.e.) green monster face etc.

i watched a documentary on it once. They didnt want her to change into a comical devil or anything, hence the greenish skin and the sores which could easily be explained away. They wanted people to decide themselves if she was possessed- make it more psychological, and hence more scary i beleive.
