I was just wondering for a friend what exactly an Entry Point is - As on my friend's UCAS he has a mixture of entry point 1 and 3's. Whereas, all mine are 1. I was just wondering what this meant as he does not know either.

The entry point is the year of the degree course which you'll be starting at. For example, if you get your entry point as 1, then you'll start on the first year of the course. However, if you get a 3, then you'll go straight to the third year of the course. I've never heard of starting directily in the third year though. I know some places let you go directly into 2nd year if you hae good enough grades, but I'd not heard of any letting you straight into third year!

Hope that kind of made sense!

No he does not have a foundation degree and I am now worried there is something wrong with his application. I have seen it with my own eyes. He has applied for Law as well. I do not know what has happened here.

There must be something wrong unless he done an immense amount of A Levels and got A's in them all

Why not phone up/email the uni's and check with them?

Did he ask for entry in the 3rd year on his application form? He might have filled that in unintentionally.
