How much to write for a 12 mark question?

Im doing crime and deviance in june and iv been doing mock questions
i figure you should write the 12 marker in around 15 minutes ?
but I keep running out of time. Im writing as fast as I can but I always end up doing about 20 minutes.

I just assume then im writing too much. Im writing an intro 4 medium size paragraphs and a conclusion.

How much should I be writing ?

You only need two main paragraphs and one very brief conclusion.

Make 3 points for why some sociologists may agree and a contradicting 3 points why some sociologists will disagree.

Your conclusion should just be a listing of your points.

I usually do the rest of the section in about 12-13 minutes so i have a lot of time for the 12 marker

It doesn't exactly matter how much you write, but the content does. The more key concepts and terminology you use the more marks you'll get. You write one introduction paragraph, one agree paragraph and one disagreeing then a conclusion

A page should be good. It's also not just about the quantity of work; it's about quality. It should also take about 15 mins but if your a slow writer like me then don't stress. Just try to manage your time.

I would say 3 main paragraphs folowing PEE structure, Intruduction of 2 lines then a conlusion where you should compare all the factors.Hope that helps. :smile:
