Sexual intercourse before 16

I'm just curious. I didn't even think of sex till i was 15 and a half and didn't lose my virginity till I was 16. I was with a guy I loved and he loved me but i wanted it to be speacial and wanted it to be the right time (and legal).
I had kissed a boy at 14 but sex never interested me.
Why do people grow up so quickly? Do you regret being so young.
I regret losing it at 16 for i dont feel I was really ready.

I didn't have sex til 17...I think I was ready. But I know what you mean... my sister is 14 and I would be reallllllllllly upset if she was sleeping with her boyfriend aled. I mean, okay, I conceed that there might be kissing (I did kiss my first boyfriend at 12 after all). But that had better be all!! If there is any... touching... involved, that boy will be beaten with a stick!
So... sex at fourteen? Not for my sister if I've got anything to do with it.

Why not sex before 16?

Age of consent laws are arbitrarily set. There's no evidence when a person reaches the intellectual or emotional means to consent.

If someone is 14 and is truly ready for sex, then why not?!
It depends on just how mature they are. Would they be mature enough to cope with pregnancy?

but then even a 16 year-old (or even 18) probably wouldn't be able to cope, they are just a 'little more' mature

Well that's just a risk to contend with isn't it? I mean there are 14 year olds who have given birth and raised a child, so I guess it is possible.
It was just disappointing when I did it half a decade ago. We didn't really know what we were doing, so it was hardly "erotic".
The propblem with sex before 16 is that young school girls often wind up pregnant and then drop out of school. I wish girls would just wait until they got their GCSEs before screwing up their life chances for good. My mother was a teenage mother, it was enough to put me off wanting to have any chance of getting pregnant until I atleast had some qualifications that could get me a job some time after small probability of the event happening.

Some of the girls at my school actually tried to pregnant so they could get their own council flat, It sickens me.

Why don't guys who impregnant underage girls actually get chased up and charged with statutory rape? It may halve the numbers of people going on Trisha but overall it will do society alot of good.

Everyone is different. Some girls are ready at 13 or 14. Some girls are stupid at 13 or 14 and have sex anyway. There are many many reasons and there is no definite answer, so its quite an overused question.

I lost my virginity at 14, i don't regret it and i think i was ready, mature and able to deal with the consequences if there were any (although i was safe obviously.) It was with my long term boyfriend and i wanted to do it. I'm not suggesting everyone is ready at 14, it's just i believe i was. I wouldn't change it if i could go back.

Noone have a go at me please, there's nothing you can do about it now. xx

Why do people grow up so quickly?.

Peer pressure
Television
Some Music

Its just the way some things put sex across these days and it makes some young people think its a cool thing to do.

Not everyone does it because it's 'cool'. I certainly didn't - i did it because i wanted to experience it and i thought i was ready to so why wait? xx
I think the media has contributed largely to young people growing up so quickly. I see 13/14 years olds walking around town on a saturday afternoon dresed up like 23/24 year olds, its like they go from kid to grown up without embracing being a teenager. Unfortunately most are still as immature as we were at that age.. but couple that with sex and then you end up with babies.

At least Trisha will always be supplied with guests.

I'm 14. I'm not a virgin. I don't regret having sex... I was ready, I thought about it a lot, I was careful. I'm mature for my age... this has nothing to do with 'society'... I've always been mature for my age. I didn't have sex to be cool or anything like that, and I'm not planning on sleeping around.
