IR is an extremely oversubscribed course at StA...expect a lot of As to appear in a conditional offer.

Applying there too, predicted AAA, AS were AAAB. God knows if I get an offer, if I do I bet it won't be until next April. Not really sure whether I'd accept it. Either way it's a good course and any offer is going to be high.
How about IB offers? I have a 40 (with 766 in highers), and am wondering if it's enough.

Ay, he's right as well. 3 of them have just flashed up at me on Track, to be exact.
In case any Scottish students are still waiting on offers and wondering what to expect, I was given an unconditional last year on AAAAB at Higher.

I've applied for IR with a prediction of 42... they ask for 38 in the prospectus so hopefully it's enough!!

I got in on 38 (predicted 41) - but I have to say that it seems to depend a lot on what kind of fees you are paying :P people with international fees can have a conditional of 36, get a 34 and still get in...

What's the line for mature? But we certainyl have several of them in IR. A couple in their thirties (at least) and several in their twenties.

then I don't understand - why would people in StA have a matura if it is an Eastern European thing? and if it simply means final exams... well of course there will be people doing that, how else would it work?

we don't get points, we get % so the conditionals are a bit different, just wondering if somebody has already received a conditional for the matura:smile:
I've never heard of the MaturA thing until now, so I'd be surprised if there's anyone else on here involved with that. Or maybe they're just quiet...

Hi I’m from Yuma, Arizona and was wondering my chances for applying to the University of St.Andrews Scotland. I'm trying to pursue a degree in International Relations.....l’ll tell you a little bit of my general background...First Two years of High school i attended a e-learning computer based school...after that I moved to a public high school in Arizona....Since back at my old school AP courses weren’t considered a great advantage...now the pressure is on and I only have an AP class (AP Spanish) I’m confident that I will pass with a 4 or higher.....I'm bilingual and Mexican-American...will that give me an extra edge for admittance at St. Andrews????

Hi Diana, I'm applying for the IR at St Andrews too, and it seems like they pick 1 student from 14... I'm afraid many people will be bilingual today... I speak 4 languages myself. Good luck to you.

Yes, me:smile:. What are your predicted grades? OMG, it seems to be sooo competitive.

Does anyone think an applicant for IR would be rejected with the predicted grades of AAAAA?

Well, really it depends on your personal statement, references etc. Pretty much everyone who applies for IR has predicted AAA or more, and only a tenth or so get in...
