To give people rep you click on the little white shouty button at the bottom of their posts. To check your rep click on the shouty button on one of YOUR posts or for a full breakdown, click on user cp and it'll show you when you got rep and what for.
(Can we not have a sticky that answers this? It seems to be a regular question.)

click on the shouty head in the bottom right corner of all posts to give others rep.
Use the user c.p. to check your own.
