Ergh reoccurring colds/infections?

Hey, this is more of a moan really than a question, but I am starting to get slightly worried now. I caught a cough over 3 weeks ago which made me lose my voice and make me more breathless than usual. I went to the doctor last week because I still had some symptoms (tight feeling in chest, tiredness etc) but he said just to keep using Vicks and drink a lot, so there was no actual infection.

Now it's come back again with a vengance and it feels like all term I've been dogged by colds, the last couple of days it's felt as bad as flu and I can't go out. I've been going mad with the vitamin C and eating healthy stuff but nothing seems to work. Do I just have a crappy immune system? Is there anything more I can do to get healthy again? Thank you

I;ve heard good things about encinacea or something like that, and maybe try Zinc supplements.

When I was little my mum used to give me supplements and they just seemed to make me get colds straight after them

tell me about it. I had a cold, then I had 3 weeks of being ok then I had another cold that turned into a chest infection. I put up with it for 2 weeks then went to the doctors and got antibiotics, 7 days of antibiotics then felt ok for a fortnight but surgery suggested I went for the flu jab, from the day i had the flu jab which is 2 weeks tomorrow I've had terrible flu and I think I've got another chest infection becausse i can hardly breathe am not a happy bunny am taking echinacea and all sorts but its doing bugger all.

I don't know if it's moving into a damp house and the new uni routine which is affecting me, because I've never had a winter as bad as this before. Booo.
4th cold of the winter....this year seems so much worse than ever before

personally I always find I get more ill if I take vitamin c lol I end up with more colds on it than i do when I'm not on it!
I seem to have been constantly troubled with illness in the last few months.

I catch a cold every week (although thats probably because I'm a tad malnourished = weak immune system).

Some people are just more prone to illness. Lemsip works good for me though
I am ill ALL THE TIME, i have a crap immune system!! I find that taking multivitamins helps a lot ,and also Echinacea Drops (such as Echinaforce) really help with colds and things. If I feel one coming on then I take some drops and it does really help it to go away. Maybe go to a Health Shop and get some?

I don't mean to alarm anyone, but a prolonged illness with cold-like symptoms can sometimes be leukemia or other serious illnesses - so if in doubt, GO TO THE DOCTORS!

Nah, I'm sure its just a little malnutrition (in my case anyway). I have a poor appetite.

Awww :hugs: I'm sorry you've been poorly!

I know how you feel - I've basically had a chest infection every month since August! I've been told my immune system is so weak because of stress and asthma. Are you feeling stressed? Getting enough sleep?

It's good you're taking vitamin C and eating healthily....sometimes thats all you can do! I hope you feel better soon though hunny :hugs:
