Hi, I’m currently doing GCSE Maths and I need help on my maths coursework, it is to do with step-squares and grid sizes.... if this sounds like anything you have come across please add to this thread or PM me. I am really stuck so any help would be very useful.

P.S. This coursework I’m doing is similar to the T-totals coursework but it is to do with a step-square

31
21 22
11 12 13

THIS IS THE FIRST STEP-SQUARE WE HAVE TO WORK WITH, WE START OFF WITH A 10x10 GRID AND THEN WE WORK ON DIFFERENT STEP-STAIR SIZES AND GRID SIZES.

P.S IF YOU COULD HELP ME I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT thx

Well i just dont understand the confusing stuff like the
1st term = a + b + c + d = 0 -------- (1)
2nd term = 8a + 4b + 2c + d = 11 -------- (2)
3rd term = 27a + 9b + 3c + d = 44 -------- (3)
4th term = 64a + 16b + 4c + d = 110 -------- (4)
how on earth did he get those numbers????

why dont you start off with using 1 as your stair postion instead of 11. Thats what I did.

1)write and introduction saying what you are trying to investigate and how you intend to do it

2)work out the rule for the 3-step stair.I do

x y
1 *6+44 50
2 *6+44 56
3 *6+44 62
x *6+44

Rule: 6x+44

Then do the same method for the rest of the step stairs. Then the use a different grid.
