Alternative ways to pass test

This might sound like a really dumb question, but are there any other ways to get a driving license bar sitting the practical test?

My brother suffers from anxiety attacks etc and despite being perfectly capable of driving, repeatedly fails his test, often he finds himself unable to set off the test centre.

I know it's unlikely, but do they make any allowances for people with these sorts of disbilities? He's got all the relevant medical evidence.

i doubt it, if you cant pass the practical test you shouldnt be on the road. driving can get stressful, if not more so after youve gone through the test, so if cant hack the practical test then you shouldnt be on the road. end of.

Hi,

Thats correct, no test no licence. As a driving instructor I fully understand the problems people face on their test. His instructor can help him prepare by mock testing and preparing him menatally for the test. The test is very simple if you can get over the 'TEST' word, its a basic assessment of driving. I do this with my pupils very early on and have a great pass rate as a result. If you need any more advice let me know

In theory, he could just stay with a provisional license and whenever he wants to drive somewhere just have someone in the car with him who is over 21 and has held their own full license for 3 years. If he doesn't want to take the test, he can still drive, providing he is accompanied. But then there are obvious downsides to that!
Why dont you or someone else sit in the car with him (in the back seat) maybe he will be more chilled if someone he knows is in the car when he takes the test.

Insurance would be a major problem with this though.
