Is it OK to take all this supplement?

Hi everyone, this is my second post so far!

I am now currently taking

Most from Holland & Barrett

Busy B with C ( Multivitamin B + Vitamin C)
Soy Lecithin
Flaxseed Oil
Zinc
Ginkgo Biloba
Acidophilus

I always suspect that there might be a reaction between this supplements or that they neutralise each other's effect! Could someone please answer my question?

I would also want to add to my regime Creatine, is this OK as well!

Firstly there's almost no point taking acidophilus bought from Holland+Barrett if it wasn't refrigerated when you bought it, and if it hasn't been refrigerated at home - most of the bacteria will be dead. Just drink a probiotic yogurt drink every day.

Secondly, for vitamin C just drink a small glass of orange juice a day...

As for reactions between products - I doubt there would be any adverse effects from taking all those but it's still far healthier to obtain most of those things naturally from a balanced diet, rather than taking sh*tloads of pills. Much cheaper too!

pretty pointless. instead you should just buy a cheap multivitamin/mineral/anti oxidant complex and buy some cheap flaxseed oil for your efa's.

there shouldnt be a reaction from taking all of those things, but i think its pointless. you could all you need from taking a decent multivitamin, some cheap flaxseed oil or caps and some probiotic yog.

as for the creatine it would only be a good idea to take it if you are pushing yourself to failure while working out, otherwise its effects would be minimal. you should remember that it has many side effects too.

Thanks for your advice! But I would just like to say that my acidophilus is actually from a proper make called Solgar. The reason I choose this over probiotic yogurts is because it has a capsule that can ensure all those bacteria to survive the stomach acidity and reside in the lower digestive tract. ( to restore my intestinal flora after my antibiotic courses!)

Could you guys recommend any good supplement for enchancing my memory?

Besides Ginkgo Biloba, Zinc, Flaxseed Oil for Omega 3, Soy Lecithin, Vit Bs...

I would also like to point out that my main purpose to take all these pills is really to improve my memory and reduce fatigue due to my hectic school life, and this combo have been work out so well.......

I am no expert afterall, so please correct me if I say anything wrong!

Lovely placebos....
The reason your urine is bright yellow now is because your body is busy excreting all that excess Vitamin B.

i second all that. creatine is psychological for some people anyways.

Also theres no point taking flaxseed oil from H&B as it hasn't bee refrigerated/frozen either, therefore it the oil will have oxidised and turned rancid(I bet it has quite a strong taste doesn't it?)and you are in effect drinking varnish ie. poison.

well you say that it has worked for you so far so i guess that it is ok. but personally i think that you should try and reduce the amount of it. it is healthier to get your vitamins and stuff from food rather than tablets. as for the neutralise thing, i have heard that if you take too much supplements the body can't handle it. or to be more correct the body don't absorb more than it needs and the surplus leads to unbalance and then the nutrients "compete" with each other. however i read this in a report written by a toxicologist so it is biased. new reports are written all the time and dependent on what you read it might be more or less healthy.

Hiya, I actually work for that company and although there will be no interactions taking those supplements together, you can modify your diet so you dont have to take all of them. Gingko biloba is good for short term memory loss as it increases the circulation to the brain. You could always try korean ginseng instead, so long as u aint taking any medication or have high blood pressure. korean ginseng is both mentally and physically stimulating so may help concentration. You could try using linseeds on your cereal or in soups rather than taking the flax oil.
