Drinking (A lot)

Ok, at my party yday one of my freinds ended up so wasted my mum called her parents,

as my party wasn't meant to be a drink up I was wondering how she got sooo wasted as their wasn't that much alchol on the table (I supplied a lot of non alcholic alternatives) so when I tidied up I searched for her drink that she said she had left on the window sill and took a sip to see what was in it, I had less then a sip, my eyes watered, by stomach hurt and I spat it out and had a packet of crisps, at the time I was worried - it was a pint tumbler and was less then a quarter full and as everyone was completely filling up their drinks she must had had 3/4's (They were doing the 'I' never' game) so then I searched for the drink - and found a bottle sambuca with a quarter of a litre left in it (I measured it) and it said 750ml oh and something like 42%

How on earth did her body sustain so much (Others oculd have had a bit but I think anyone else who drank drank bacardi and vodka)

Do you lot think she should have had her stomach pumped? (My mum was sooo close to sending her straight to hospital)

I hope shes all right, I texted but got no reply (my sister said shes probably in a modd with me b/c I landed her in heaps of trouble with her mum)

Has anyone else ever drank that much?

You do need to drink a serious amount of alcohol before needing your stomach pumped. Although that much isn't exactly safe limits it shouldn't have caused any harm.

More. Hospitalised. Damned cocktails.

As long as someone is still alive they'll sleep it off. It is difficult to judge because it depends on blood alcohol, body weight etc. But if they are still responsive and aware they should be alright.

shes 8 stone, 5"8 had champaigne, punch (although that wasn't too alcholic) bacardi (not mixed) vodka, umm I'm not sure what else, she was sick for at least an hour before her mum was called - if I did that I would be in a coma now (I dont drink too much)

Oh and she has to take medication as well

I wasnt to try and get through to her, that she has a problem she needs to address - the way she talks she gets this bad every saturday - when I was saying I think mum wants to phone home, she was like, no I'm ok after a while, I'm always fine after a couple of hours, its very worrying (shes 17 btw)

She wasn't very responsive and when she talked back it was one slurred word I coldn't make out :s-smilie:

Woah, insane !! I once drank 300ml of vodka and got pretty wasted, that amount seems impossible for someone to drink.

I now - I mena if my calcualtions are correct she had 500ml of 42 % which was ever so slightly mixed with lemonade (but it tasted and felt exactly the same as when I dipped my finger in the neat and tasted it to see if it was different

It's a pity natural selection doesn't kick in in these instances.

Your liver will be damaged long term. Your kidneys took the blow of the immediate effects.
And if she's thrown up, she'll have pumped her own stomach to an extent.

300ml is less than 10 shots in certain places. It's not that much if you have it over a few hours.

She's on meds, AND she drank a combination of every drink under the sun?

Girl done got f**ked up!

Reply 15

i've probably drank more than that on a few occasions, but the last time i did it i don't remember vast sections of the night! also, i'm a lot bigger than that girl (12.5 stone), so she must have been off her face! uni has immunised me to drinking vast quantities....what a waste of my student loan!

depends what sex you are, you're build and god knows how many other factors. She should be alright. I though Sambucca was 26% anyway

Most ive ever drank was nearly a full bottle of Bells Whiskey plus a few cans of beer, that was new year last year, and its the only time ive ever thrown up ( came out pure whiskey lol) apart from that didnt really affect me! I know some people that are "lightweights" tho and they throw up all the time.

As she's your friend her mum would have contacted you (or one of her other friends and it would have spread!) if anything bad has happened. So because you haven't heard she's probably just really hungover and feeling icky. And she might be embarrassed or maybe mad at you, but then her mum might have punished her by removing phone and internet priveleges!

It depends on how used to it you are too. Some people have died drinking a half bottle of vodka after having never previously drank alcohol, then again I know someone that has a half bottle every week - some alcoholics drink that pretty much every day, maybe even more.
