If you have a style guide for your referencing system, have that beside you so you don't lose marks for mistakes with bibliography etc.

Get lots of junk food. For the energy.
Stop coming on TSR.

Get a flatmate to hide your internet/TV cable so you don't get distracted.

1. PLAN your essays, and follow the plans, so that you have some sort of logical format

2. Eat whilst you are working on your essays. (Chocolate keeps you going).

3. Don't put on music with words on.

4. Disconnect from the internet- that's a BIG distraction.

5. Take short breaks every now and then and look at something other than what you are writing about so that you don't get bored.

6. Coffee. The best essays are written after the point at which you are extremely sleepy. The coffee-induced state allows you to think outside the square.

7. Have fun whilst you are writing, and ALWAYS make a criticism somewhere.

Thats a good one, i've never thought of! x
My advice - Don't listen to freshers and write a plan.

N/B - you can only write plans if you know what you're talking about.

Out of interest, what do you base that on?

Maybe they mean "Don't listen to freshers, and write a plan."

2,000 words in two days? You can do that in a night. Seriously. Get two reference books, skim read them both and cobble an argument together from bits of both.

2 x 2,000 is 4,000...

I take it you must be doing a maths degree.

 i didn't get that...glad i'm not doing a math degree :p:

anyway concentrate on what is important for the subject/question and make sure that the different paragraphs connect with each other in some way so it is easy to read and understand.

Given my inability to read, it might have been a better idea. Allow me to rephrase:

Hehe...

If youve actually done the required reading on them they should be doable but if youve done nothing whatsoever you dont stand any chance.
