What are you buying your other half for Xmas?

Just curious. Not...that I'm...looking for...ideas.. :ninja:

Ok, I'm not kidding anyone...like Helenia suggested:

1. Suggest something to at least one person

2. Gender/Age/Likes/Dislikes/Budget

As for me:

1. To Helenia - I'd suggest a watch, a computer games accessory or anything from here, here or here.

2.

Gender of other half: Female
Age: 16
Likes: books, clothes, films, tv shows (drama + teen), computer games, anime/manga, music
Dislikes: Anything that isn't cute
Budget: £20-£50

Ok sorry to slightly hijack this thread but I need help plzzzz,

I had bought THIS but they messed the engraving up (was off centre  ) and now its gonna take till after christmas before they could get me a new one. I'm soo annoyed, I had been good and got it in plenty of time and now they've messed it up so i'm stuck for ideas.
I really want to find something similar but im not having much luck.
Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

Actually, I think I might make this a sticky for a while, seeing as otherwise we'll get loads of these threads. And I need help too! Maybe if people do it something like this:

Gender of other half: male
Age: 19
Likes: computer games, rowing, most films that aren't too girly (but I don't want to just get him a DVD, that's lame), food
Dislikes: Football, Oxford, girly stuff, musicals (dammit!), overly "laddish" stuff.
Budget: £20-30 (plus shirt, see below)

I know I'm getting him a shirt of some kind (it's a long story) but I have to get something else too...preferably something that can be opened in front of his parents.

Actually, shall we make it a condition that in order to ask for help you should suggest something to at least one other person?

Oh, and of course, people can post anonymously if they think they might be spotted...

I ordered THIS a month ago and thought great i'm sorted. But it arrived and the engraving was all off set so it has to be returned and they can't get me a new one until after christmas
So i really need ideas please, I want it to be a similar sort of thing to that above ie. a necklace or similar. Dammit I really had found the perfect gift - for a disney crazy person lol

Thanks

Maybe you could get him something to do with rowing if hes really into it? Although I dont know what.... Ok rubbish suggestion! If he shirt is going to be quite a main part of the present, then how about getting him something sentimental as the other thing. Like a frame with a picture of the two of you inside or something reminding you of when you first got together. Or if you have a running joke between the two of you maybe something to do with that? Like I dont know a bottle of stella if he makes jokes about drinking loads and beating you up lol. Trust me its funny!
Gender of best mate: male
Age: 17
Likes: art, cycling, mountaineering, girls, gangster rap **** music
Dislikes: Filthy people without cause for being filthy
Budget: £10
For £9.95 on FIREBOX I bought an Executive Hammock, which is basically a hammock that is packed well small and can be taken anywhere in your bag. It can be hung up in your room or anything really. It's a real guys gift.

Erm, we got together by downing cheap wine all evening and realising we were the only two people in the room not snogging! (Though the rest were all only random pulls, we're the only two who actually got anywhere) Not quite so romantic.

You could work with that!!! Ok, go and buy some REALLY cheap wine, I'm talking £1.50 stuff. Stick on the receipt with some sellotape, wrap it up and tada there you have a sentimental funny gift.

Actually, that's kinda the plan for our anniversary - it's a week after Valentine's day, so we can't possibly afford to splash out on both. Hence for the anniversary (assuming we make it that far - only another two months!) we're going to formal hall and drinking lots of cheap wine in honour of that first night

As for presents, I'm loving those gadgety websites - thanks doctor_b! Although mangomaz, your idea of something rowing related is good...just depends if I can get the required kit outside of Cambridge.

And for your boy, to go with his camera thingy, how about one of those big arty travel books with loads of big colour pics of exotic places (or Africa in particular)? Ought to satisfy both the passion for Africa and photography, without having to invest in anything illegal
i no someone who has collected 12 photos of them both and is having a calender made! now that is a fabulous gift!

Just a load of small to medium sized gifts, like a Napoleon Dynamite t-shirt and a couple of CDs... little personal things that I know he'll like. I got him a nice watch too. I couldn't think of anything really expensive.

His birthday is on Christmas Day, which makes it VERY VERY DIFFICULT AND EXPENSIVE.

Haha.

Do you know how they are going to make the calendar? because that sounds like a great idea for me to get my girlfriend :p:

She is in Spain and I'm in Uk so we don't see each other much, and she keeps on saying about how she buys something personal when she buys xmas presents.

Other than that I am getting her a "me to you" bear :p:
i have no idea what to get my bf...I got him a shirt and that's it.. and xmas is like nearly here, panic panic. And when I ask him what he wants he says, "surprise me". not very helpful...

Oooo what about that book "The Earth From the Air"? It's got a different aerial photograph for each day of the year and they're incredible!
