eye contact

How do you get someone to look you in the eye? I turned down a boy in my class about a month and a half ago and ever since he's refused to make eye contact with me. It sounds weird but if we talk to each other (which generally requires effort on my part) he won't look me in the eye. I find this really disconcerting and honestly rude. I know its always hard when someone regects you but I really think he's a lovely boy and do want to at least be on good terms with him. How do I get him to warm up a bit more???

Perhaps you have just knocked his confidence and he finds it difficult to make eye contact because he is uncomfortable. Also men don't make eye contact as much as women and he might suffer from low self esteem which would probably also stop him from looking you in the eyes. Just talk to him more frequently and he should warm up to you more.

have patience eye contact is important,but it doesnt come to evryone as you think it shud do.talk to him more and do less work with the eyes, once he is comfortable with you even partially,eye contact wont be a problem

whichever it is, makes him feel uncomfortable - he'll either get over it eventually or never make eye contact again :biggrin:

I think if you try to talk to him about this you'll only embarrass him more; you've already rejected him and he obviously needs time to get over it. Just carry on talking to him, be friendly (and not flirty) and eventually he'll get over it.
