For the experimental errors:

1) Different amounts of methane added to each reaction?

Electrolysis
i) electrons
ii) electrolyte/ions in water

Last question
nitrogen - air
hydrogen - water? natural gas

nitric acid

Mine shut down because expensive to ship sodium nitrate and pay workers to mine. Ammonium nitrate is a better fertiliser than sodium nitrate

do you think they'll accept water? because apparently it's steam.

i put water too! but I'm not sure

electrolye = liquid
so it's ion

I think so anyway ^^

will i get a mark for electrolyte?
I put water but I think it may be too vague

I won't be happy if its steam, I hope they accept water.
what about the question on
choose which one it would be and there was a table
with zinc, copper, iron, hydrogen for postive electrode and cholrine etc etc for negative.

then it said explain why you choose your answer.

then why is choride ions oxidised?

then it said complete the equation

_ + _ --> something

there was also another question, to do with ....boiling point?

oh and the alumininum ion and oxide ion?

2H+ + 2e- -----> H2

same because of the H20 I just guessed :P
but i think its natural gas :/

chloride loses electrons (oxidation)

oxygen gains 2 electrons to complete its shell 2, 8 on diagram

then the covalent bonding of sulphur and hydrogen was cross and dot on hydrogens and then 4 crosses on sulfur
For the errors in the experiment question I wrote:

1. Errors in weighing the copper.
2. Weighed the copper before the reaction had finished/been completed.

Would I receive any marks? Thanks guys! :smile:

hmm thats what I was thinking because it said experimental errors and those would be measurement errors or human errors :/

Hmmm....I'm not sure to be honest! Out of interest, what did you put and what do you think the correct answers were? :smile:

hmm, I put something like the the same volume of methane wasn't used each time :/ ( dont think thats right)
and either poor measuring of copper oxide or different amount of time exposed to heat or so
i'm just hoping that the majority of the paper is ok, so it'll compensate for silly mistakes or dodgy questions.
AQA really NEED to sort out their wording :/
In the English exam, there were 3 spelling mistaks, ironic right?

Oh I see. :/ Thanks anyway! :smile:

Agreed! :/

Which exam board are you on for English? And very ironic - you would think the examiners would check through the paper many times before printing out millions of copies for the exams! :/

Spelling mistaks? lol :smile:
I put natural gas for where you can obtain Nitrogen.... ?

Would i get a mark for putting electrolyte/ion?
