You're probably dehydrated, and / or have naturally dry skin. Use vaseline and drink more water.

i get this all the time, honestly the only thing that ever heals mine is pure aloe vera straight from the plant, nothing else ever helped mine heal, or even try aloe vera vaseline, hope it goes away soon anyways i know how much it sucks x

You need Blistex MedPlus. It comes in a navy blue pot or stick.

Carmex and stuff like that will help but being a constant sufferer from cracked lips and corners of my mouth my entire life this is the best one.

Vaseline doesn't actually do anything except guard your lips from drying air in order to let them heal themselves, so Blistex MedPlus will be a faster option. I've fount just Vaseline only really helps it heal on the surface and then they crack again overnight or when the Vaseline naturally dries off.

Sudocream is to thick I would think, and its not really medicated as far as I know, I think it has soothing properties but not actually healing?

please help? :frown:

It happens quite often, and get worse whenever I smile and open my mouth, just because the crack split... :frown:

Do you mean at the corner of your mouth?

Do you have any menstrual issues?
Vaseline! Put loads on before you go to bed, then you'll wake up with non-cracked lips.
Works for me anyway.

I should say that I only have to keep doing it a couple times a week because I have a really bad habbit of biting my lips. poor lips.

Do people realise that Vaseline dries your skin out? It doesn't moisturise it whatsoever, it's meant to coat and dry the skin so that it can regenerates by itself underneath. And if you don't believe me, try to put it on your blisters, you'll see the result pretty quickly, that's what my rowing club uses to dry the blisters.

Cracks in the corner of the mouth can be a sign of iron deficiency anaemia, which is common in young girls with heavy, frequent or long periods.

Do you feel tired? Low? Easily become breathless? Do you have pale nail beds?

It could just be dry skin (very likely) but if you have any of the above I'd pop to the GPs and get a quick blood test, it should be an easy fix with some iron supplements.
Arghh i always used to get that. the only thing that worked for me is Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. Although it is quite pricey, a mini tube of it will last you a good couple of years if used sparingly.

It's fine to put on your face, possibly not just in your mouth. Won't necessarily help, but it won't harm you either.
Cherry chapstick. And the added bonus is that if you kiss a girl she'll like it.

In all honesty, go for something with aloe vera in it. It's good.
I second the person who said you may have vitamin defficiency.. I had the whole cracks on my lips thing, googled it and that came up. Started taking Iron and everyday vitamin supplements and the problem cleared up quickly. Might not be the issue, but just speaking from experience.
