Back from Uni and feeling deflated...

I've been back from uni for approximately 24 hours and I am already bored out of my mind. The last few weeks have been long whirl of parties, essays and general fun. Now I find myself at home with absolutely nothing to do. I have spent my day filing my CDs into alphabetical order, labelling photos and doing crosswords. I was looking forward to coming home and crashing but I have so much energy and nothing to do with it. No one is back from uni til the weekend and they all seem to have family commitments and jobs.

It's making me feel a bit depressed. I miss the buzz of uni, the constant stimulation and being surrounded by lots of people. Anyone else feeling the same thing???

Can you try to organise nights out or days out with your home friends?

Have you got much work to do?

You could get a job to keep you occupied?

I know. I'm gonna feel exactly like that this time tomorrow. I'm bringing work with me cos I know I'm gonna be so bored I'll actually get round to doing some!

im actually dreading going back on saturday.

but tomorrow is going to rule.. just need to get this essay done now...
Yep, i know what you are talking about completely. I came home yesterday and was fine, really excited about seeing my family and friends again, but today ive just been a bit...meh. Ive organised all of my work at Sainsburys, which is good because i need the money, and i need to organise lots of driving lessons before my test in January (Ive got my first one since September tomorrow and am NOT looking forward to it!) I miss my uni friends already, even though i only saw them all yesterday morning and one of them rang today and I had a brief 'text' conversation with another because she is going abroad for a month tomorrow. Im better now than i was earlier...but I was just sitting at the pub with a few friends and felt quite deflated...no idea why. You are not alone!
Check for leaks. Maybe the seal needs replacing.

I have to say, I'm dreading this, as i'll be spending Christmas with my parents, grandma, and noone else.

I wrote a rather desperate note in a friend's christmas card asking her to come and see me  (she'll only be 10 miles away)
Geez, I am getting depressed.

I don't leave until Tuesday, and I miss uni already! :frown:

I'm not back yet, but I felt the same when I went home for the first time when I was a fresher - I seemed to think that I'd somehow outgrown my town settling into my new found 'university life', however I soon adjusted when my friends got home from uni too, and also started to appreciate that it was good waking up to a NICE lunch that had been cooked for you and that you could watch television without having to wait for all the Hollyoaks muppets to vindicate the TV Room. However, if you're still bored, then get a job - maybe just some temporary bar work to keep you occupied? Anyhows, I'm sure you'll be fine after a few days. x

Meh, I bet I'll be feeling the same when I get home on Monday... having been at boarding school forever before shipping off to uni, my friends are all scattered around the country and I don't really know that many people in Bristol. It shall be boring. I will probably sleep right through the month.

Chin up guys!

I can't wait to get home, i love uni but i love home as well. I miss my old friends loads and i can't wait to catch up with everyone and spend some quality time with my boyfriend. I have lots of work to do for uni over Christmas, but i was kind of hping i would have to squeeze it in because i'm going to be busy seeing my friends. The few i have seen since going to uni were great when i saw them again, it was like nothing had changed. xx
you'll get used to it but try find something to do.i'm in boarding school and i know it's not the same but last summer i went back home and it was dreadfully boring and meh i was out of my mind with boredom!!! if you can find something else to do like take a weekned off somewhere or something.try not to stay at home though all day if not you'll get crazy with day time television lol oh try to sleep longer hours and if you've got sky, make the most of it

Yup, exactly the same - i've done a hundred crosswords too! To go from being around people constantly to being just with my parents for 72 hours was awful! I had missed my parents and was looking forward to seeing them but still...it was just too much! Luckily I had a job lined up which is keeping me busy but I still just can't wait to get back. I don't like saying that when my mum's around though, I feel mean!

Don't get depressed though, there's only a couple more weeks (well, 3 for me) til we go back, and make the most of being home now - the variety of food, parents, family... could you go and visit some uni friends or something?

I can't wait to get home (tonight!) I miss my parents and my sister and my cat and my friends. In that order.
I'm going home tomorrow. I'll miss my boyfriend, but he will be comeing to stay at some point (yay) and it will be good to see my family again. I miss my cats too!
