Rosies

It is a very long time since I have been to Rosies as it is not my venue of choice in Chester however friends are planning to go tomorrow so I wil end up there. Just wondering if anyone could tell me if it has a decent cloakroom? A very important factor in deciding where to go at this time of year!! Some of the places my friends go to in Liverpool have cloakrooms that I just wouldn't trust. Is there one at Rosies and if so is it cheap?

Yes there is a cloakroom in Rosies on the middle floor. (you cant miss it as its right in front of you when you go up the stairs)
It costs £1.50 but sometimes they can be fussy if you want to put somthing like gloves or a hat in with your jacket and may charge you again for them.
Unless of course like me you know the woman who runs the cloak room in which case its free

RBs is crap anyway.
Ahh ditto. I went RBs a few times within the first month and got very bored of it although my housemates love it. I guess it's because I don't enjoy all the crappy R n B music.

I like to go out with my mates every so often and I would choose Brannigans over RBs everytime. Unless of course we were to pop into Reflex for some cheesy 80s fun.

yeh ive been getting bored of RBs/Rosies too. I only tend to go on wednesdays for rock nite now

Brannigans used to be bloody awfull tho before they refurbished it a few months ago unfortunatly i cant convince any of my Chester mates to go as they reckon that even with the refit it will still be crap (i think one of them summed it up by saying "you cant polish a turd")

Revolution would be good if it wasnt so small
I like Revolution too but it's a bit pricy.

I quite like Revolution too.
I just usually go for a few pints at the George with my housemates. I'm not the sort who goes out to clubs that often. Back home I'd go into town about once a month.

i dont really like revolution.. i always find its mostly older people in there

i like a generally younger crowd, students from uni for meeting mates when out but thats just me

Well as we're discussing bars i may as well tell you about my regular haunts

Revolution is good on friday and saturday nights (but is usually empty any other night except for a few middle aged people) if you can get a table in there and keep it all night but if you dont keep it well occupied all night then you will loose it. And yeh it can be quite pricy if your wanting beer but if £1 a shot from the woman that brings them round is quite good value as you dont even have to go and get them (although as theyre quite cheap you usually end up spending quite a bit on them anyway)

Rosies/RBs is crap on the RnB/Dance/Rap floors but Reflex is good cheesey fun and Wednesday nite rock nites are good as they cater for most peoples tastes in rock/metal and its never usually overcrowded like the middle floor

Brannigans As I said before is struggling to rebuild its image among people from Chester after the refit (it used to be bloody awfull and full of 40-60yr olds) It has become quite good for students who arnt from Chester tho as they arnt influenced by its history

The Students Union is great when its not too busy but during its busy times im not a big fan of it. It gets way too warm in there when its busy and its not the easiest place to have a drink in when you cant get a seat.

The George and Dragon is the best Pub near to the uni as its pretty big and not too expensive. Fantatic place to go for a pub lunch too as they do huge portions of food for small prices.

The Shropshire Arms is a really good place to have a relaxed drink (especially if you can claim the sofas) and is very well priced.

The Coach and Horses and horses is in dire need of refurbishment but is damned cheap place to start a night out with friendly bar staff and some "colourfull" regulars

The Golden Eagle is a great place to watch football on one of their 2 huge TVs and has a great jukebox. Not too badly priced but not really cheap either.

The Falcon is a moderatly priced cosy little pub with really friendly staff that is run by a small independant brewery so the chances are you wont have heard of most of the beers in there but most of them are damned nice.

The Boot is my favourite pub in Chester, virtually a tavern they serve nice cheap German lager.
yay for cheap German Lager
Does anyone know of any Indian Take aways? Theres a kebab shop and Chinese takeaway around the corner from me but thats just not good enough!!

Me and my housemates like the George  We go to the quiz for ***** and giggles.

Haha, I was in the Boot yesterday. I love the crazy old men that try and chat you up in there. My personal favourite was the lorry driver... haha.

I won't be in Rosie's tonight because I have no money, although the metal night was awesome last week. Which in turn made up for the week before, because it was bloody dire then.

The cocktails from Revolutions are so potent... Someone bought me one and I had to choke it down whilst trying to pretend to enjoy it. Urgh.

Red Lion is alays good for cheap drinks too. I met Tinhead (or whatever his name is) and Hollyoaks people in there once. Claim to fame.
