For most A level exams it's close to 80% for an A, 70 for a B, 60 for a C, 50 for a D, 40 for an E. It alters according to how hold the paper was etc.

Sometimes they will alter grade bounds to make sure certain percentages get certain grades. Not sure about AQA, but Edexcell are suposed to have before.

its more like:

a-74%
b-64%
c-54%

for aqa.

the highest ive seen was mod 3 chem - 80% for an A. never seen anything above 80% for an A.
