To be serious I expected to get rejection from all the universities in UK.

But it turns out that I was wrong. Last week I received 2 offers from Glasgow

and Bristol, where they expected me to get BBB and ABB. But the problem is

my expected grades were extremely low: Math E Economics C and History D

Can any of you explain why I got these offers?

The only reason to explain is this.
University wants money. This is why they want to accept international students. They pay 3 times more than UK students. Remember standard cost for uk kids are around 3000 quid. where in some university international kid pay more than 12k quid excluding 6k living cost.
Think..would you want to get someone who is willing to pay alot to you rather than someone who pays less?
THat's what i think.

They're giving you a chance to meet your potential! Don't knock it and try harder if you want to come to the UK. You got to work in the short term if you want a nice life in the long term.

Did it occur to anyone that the original poster may be lying?

If he is expected to get these grades a) why would he apply to these universities b) He wouldn't get an offer!

The only explanation would be a mix up with his predicted grades (ie he will acheive better grades than those, despite grade predictions).

no, theyll get the same amount of money, its just that international students pay all their fees whereas our LEA pays most of ours.

I don't really care about these unis in UK.

Because I planned to go to US not UK. I applied these unis because I want to

know how many unis will accept me.

No that's definitely not the case. Yes, we're LEA subsidised but only upto something like £6,000.

Which is still better than none for an international student. I really would hate having to pay 3x more than other ppl though...ugh.

Still way cheaper than out of state tuition from Harvard, Yale, Duke, etc.

How is lying spelt wrongly? That is a perfect spelling of the word. I am confused. Maybe you should find a dictionary...

I thought you don't get the money; they pay that part of the fees directly to your uni... But I thought the governments in the EU don’t like it too much that they have to pay for the foreign students if they are from the EU. Belgium for example despites all those Dutch students that like to study medicine or vet med in Belgium (Belgium governments pays a 50.000 or more for the study and than they return to NL). But lots of Dutch students do so because we have a lottery system for those studies and you got a place in Belgium for sure.
