The answer i got was -½x-1
-------
dy/dx = [(x)(x+1)-1/2/2 - (x+1)1/2(1)]/x²
Multiply numerator and denomator by (x+1)½
dy/dx = [½x-(x+1)]/x²(x+1)½
dy/dx = (-½x-1)/x²(x+1)½

Differentiate y = (x+1)^½
y = (x+1)^½
dy/dx = ½(x+1)^(-½)
........ => 1/(2√(x+1))
