Hello, although I don't live in Regs I've visited many times. They have the common room which has a fair few pianos and a synthesizer. If you can't practice in Regs there are music rooms available in Younger Hall.

Thank you :-)
I'm afraid I have got another question:

As I got allocated to a twin room, what should I do in case my male friend from Germany would like to visit me for some days?
I guess my female roommate might not be too happy about boys in her room whom she doesn't know...
Do people usually put their friends into B&Bs?

Friends can visit! It should be okay, I'm sure she won't mind you having a friend over. We're all adults now, kinda.

Just make sure you tell her first! I was in DRA in my first year and one night I walked into the kitchen at 3am to find a flatmates boyfriend sleeping almost naked on the sofa. Not as bad, but needless to say I was quite surprised.

Any Uni. Hall folks here?

Just accepted my offer for Fife Park, any words of advice for this study abroad student? Has anyone else been offered a place here?

In the U.S., twin extra long is typically the correct size for college dorm bedding (sheets, duvet, etc). Does anyone know whether it is the same for residence hall bedding at St Andrews? The Residence Handbook seems to be silent on this subject. The bedding order form from the online store doesn't seem to address this question either.

Also: does anyone know when the remaining housing assignments will be made to new students with unconditional offers? Will it be done in batches announced each Friday for the remainder of the summer?

Thanks.

A standard single (or twin) bed in the UK is 36 in × 74 in or 91 cm × 190 cm.

It depends on the accommodation you get, the likes of Agnes blackadder hall and DRA have double beds (unless your in a shared DRA room) and the standard catered residences have single beds. Bed sizes differ in the uk and us. You are probably best buying your bedding in the uk, i don't know the difference between the two.

Accommodation offers are being released in weekly batches for unconditional offers, so you should here soon

Hey,

Study abroad student from the US here. Is it strange that I have not gotten an accommodation offer yet? I applied way back in April. Does everyone hear at once, or do they notify people in stages?

They are sending them out in weekly batches, I think people are expecting the next batch to be tomorrow

I haven't heard anything from them yet either...

I have a question; do people usually get accepted into their 1st choice accommodation?

Based on my experience you are most likely to get into your third or fourth choice.

That really sucks... I really wanted a self-catered hall =/
