Has anybody been given offers for English Lit having Art A - Level as part of the offer?

I am thinking of applying for Eng Lit for entry next year and I read that Manchester University may not include subjects with a large practical component in their offers. I suspect that Art is classified as having a large practical component and I am doing Art A - Level.

Will this affect my chances of offers next year?

Hope that all made sense.

To be honest I'm not entirely sure.

However, there are people reading English at Uni who have done Maths or Science A-Level. I think the creativity of art is in many ways similar to the creativity needed to open one's mind to different interpretation of texts. Certainly more so than maths!

To be safe I'd recommend writing to your prospective choices and asking. I am sure they'll be helpful.

I took an extra academic a level just to make sure as well as Art Textiles, but I think as long as your application and passion for Eng are strong enough, it doesn't really matter. a friend of mine got into New College Ox with Eng, Textiles and Spanish, even thought their official policy is anti art.
