how do you stop loving someone?

love is like you are jumping of a tall skyscraper you keep falling and falling you just wish you could hit the ground and move on. i just want to forget her and get on with my life, but to me she is everything what and more importantly how do i forget the most important person in my life?

Yep, I agree with Silence, and deej2 - if it is actually love you won't ever stop loving her. You will move on with time, and if you are lucky fall in love again but you will still have that girl in your heart.

It often appears that you 'love' someone, but then you find yourself becoming really fascinated in things on the tv...like bowls or darts, then the thought of the girl simply slips away.

Its hard - but i think you can. Firstly give up on the idea of either getting back with her, or being with her in the first place. Much harder to get over someone when your still hoping for a reunion. Also try not to see her, abscence may make the heart grow fonder, but it forgets too. Finally try and make an effort to get out and socialise, both with ur friends - so you realise you dont need her for a good time - and other girls - so you realise there are other people out there. I dunno if that helped at all but i hope you feel better soon.

i agree with lil sweetie u definetly can love someone without being with them! havin that problem at the moment. You cant fall out of love with someone if you mean it ive been trying to for the last month and a half. everytime i think ive cracked it shell ring me in the early hours of the mornin or there will be a party where we will grind! unfortunatly she has a bf! :frown:

sorry but you'll have to stay lovin her. or do what i did saturday, drink 1 and 1/2 bottles of straight vodka, rave all nite throw up everywhere and still have that girl all over you! :top:

drum and bass helps!

Oh i know

i am the queen of unrequited love i think. But even now, just give yourself an allowance like "i'll think of her.. 4 times a day" and you'll think its stupid and will never work... but i'm finding it can help.

So you'll probably never stop loving her... don't worry about it. Love is always a good thing to have in this world. In time the love will become less and less and you'll meet someone and move on.

Don't try to stop loving her too quickly, as this will make you like her more, just gradually look at all the other great things in the world, and your memory of her won't stick out as much.

if she means that much why do you want to forget her? if shes been messing about behind your back go out with her best friend and be really public with it. make her feel small! she'll hate you but you'll forget her quicker.

If you're not with her, and she doesn't know you love her, tell her how you feel. If she says she doesn't feel the same way, that will help you get over her as it's like a definite answer, and will (hopefully) help you to move on.

Ha, me neither. I told the guy and he was like "sorry... i only like u as a friend" and things are so so awkward, but i am learning to control my feelings!
