About the beetle, if you're talking about the new Beetle's then yes I would say they're a girly car, the old Beetles however, look alot less girly in my opinion.
Of course I meant the new Beetle. I'm not a huge fan of the old ones.

The new ones aren't that great either.
The Beetle is just an over priced heavyweight with exactly the same engine range as the MKIV Golf. Its a novelty car, and once that's worn off, you'll have a hard job selling. Its as girly as they come.

I am probably the most immature person you'll meet, therefore a novelty car will suit me just fine.

Girly: Ford Street Ka thing or perhaps the Micra CC, or a pink fluffy Smarf ForTwo
Manly: Lancia Delta HF Integrale, Focus RS, Escort RS Cosworth (ok, so not v. small, well actually small relative to a Volvo 850 T5 estate!!!), or Lotus Exige (small in terms of weight)
OK, I just realised this, the most many small car is actually between a Peugeot 205 and a Metro!

Its true, a Metro can be manly, just look at the car dubbed as the shopping trolley, the MG Metro 6R4, it has upwards of 500 Hp and four wheel drive. Scary. It is a Metro. And the Peugeot, I hope by now you car peoples have cottoned onto what cars I'm talking about (for those who are a bit slow they're Group B Rally Cars. I of course am talking about the legendary Peugeot 205 Turbo 16s, at the end of their shortlived careers in rallying they were producing over 600Hp from a turbocharged 2 litre four-pot, at that time fast enough to qualify for formula one races on the third row if they were allowed.

These are two examples of sublime power combined with bodies that weighed not more than a boat, oh how I love the mad eighties...

Yeah I saw a 6R4 in action at Goodwood last year, scary stuff

The 70's and 80's were mad, like the Lancia 1.4 that produced 5/600bhp!

Yep! Thats the Delta S4, it was Supercharged for low revs, and turbocharged for higher revs, and had an unbelievable torque band, mad I believe it was Vatenen that lapped Estoril in 1985ish to qualify and be fast enough to have 6th on the grid for that years Spanish Grand Prix.

All hatch backs are hairdressers cars!! Golfs, civics whatever!

I mean put some imagination into it! I'm 18 and from when i passed at 17 i have driven a 1989 Isuzu Trooper from Texas (so left hand drive) I stuck a bullbar, lights, spot light, airhorn etc on so its unique. Sticking trim on hatchbacks just looks awful! The only good thing is that its fun to intimidate boy racers when you blare your airhorn and stop a cm in front of them.

I do believe that all convertibles are actually hairdressers cars or footballers wives cars. Then we have the urban off roaders problem, do you actually go off road in you Trooper at all. If you want a unique car get something rare like an Alpina.

The Lancia I was talking about was the Montecarlo. But I saw an S4 at the Gaydon Italian Car day, it is one amazing machine

I would never have guessed you were 18 judging by your post
Intimidate? While the hatchbacks of Britain are still firmly on the B Road after a nice corner, the Isuzu Trooper will be on the field stuck.

And my particular hatchback will be 100 meters down the road before you've managed to pull the horn!!
