miscarriage?

Hi, wondering if anyone (med students maybe) could help me here. My friend is pregnant and refusing point blank to go to a dr. Shes 10 weeks gone, and is having really bad stomach pains (not one sided, jsut in the middle), and she bled. She said it wasn't much and that it didnt happen for long (ie. started last night, this morning there wasnt much). Is she definately miscarrying? Any suggestions on what I can do to help her?
Drug her and take her to a doctor. It's the only way she'll know for sure. Obviously, try to take her in a much less forceful way

Seriously, she needs to see a doc. If the pregnancy is still continuing, it may signal a problem with the baby. I am not a doctor though, so please take her to a real one!

Thanks, I seriously have tried reasoning with her but shes not having any of it. I've said everything I can, but I hate the idea of forcing her to go against her will, as it should be her decision, and maybe she feels shes not ready to know. Thanks though.
I understand where you're coming from as a friend, and obviously you want the best for her whilst respecting her wishes, but any problems need to be discussed with a doctor. I don't want to sound melodramatic or what, but spmething could be seriously wrong. The sooner it gets checked out, the sooner she will know what she can do.

No-one here, medical student or not is qualified to give you or your friend help i'm afraid. You could phone NHS Direct for impartial advice on 0845 4647, and explain the situation to them. It doesn't necessarily mean she's having a miscarriage but she does need to see someone as soon as possible.

Good luck,
