Without a doubt.
Heythrop College offers one to one tuition on pretty much every essay you write.
It is a beautiful building in an ideal location.
It is also part of the university of London so the degree at the end is the same.
Heythrop is just somewhere I am completely and utterly in love with I guess.

I nearly applied there but didn't feel ready to move all the way down to London at the time. Might do an MA there if I ever save enough money, it looks like a brilliant place to study.

It's indeed an amazing institution. I almost applied but in the end...:frown: And as it being a specialist college, you're going to hang out with philosophers nearly all the time! And I heard they have the best philosophy library in Europe. Only a mystery why it ranks so low and requires only average grades. But sure you'll have a good time there, congratulations!
Subtle passive aggression...
Heythrop isn't ranked in the full good university rankings because it is a specialist college, the statistics etc when played against other non-specialist universities with more than the handful of students attending the college the statistics do place it fairly low.
In terms of requiring average grades that is purely because they need more people I guess but they offer a scholarship of excellence worth 1k each year which persuades many people, like myself, predicted A*s to apply and attend.

There is no subtle passive aggression whatsoever.

I was not expressing any reproach on its academic standard. On the contrary, having done some research on its teaching myself it seems to me that it's ranking and typical offer do not give a precise picture of its quality. The points you have mentioned are reasonable enough.

I'm sorry if it reads offensive to you.

Well done! Where else have you applied? I will do hopefully, Newcastle looks like a fantastic place to study. Do you know what makes Philosophical studies so different from Philosophy?

Can I get people’s opinion…. I’ve had offers from
KCL AAB (Religion, Philosophy and Ethics)
Nottingham AAB (Philosophy)
Newcastle AAB (Philosophy)
Leeds ABB (Philosophy)
Bristol UWE BBC (Philosophy)

I know I’m definitely going to put Leeds as my 2nd choice and reject Newcastle and UWE but then I have to make the impossible decision between King’s and Nottingham.
Wondering if I could get people’s thoughts….

Yes for Durham - I got my offer in December. However, they tend to spread out their offers quite a bit, so don't be worried if you haven't heard yet.

As for St Andrews, they seem to have started giving out offers at a high rate a couple of days ago, but not for Philosophy yet as far as I know, and I haven't had a reply.

Hope that helps

It depends! Which course interests you most? They're quite different. Plus would you prefer a green leafy campus or London?
