Oxbridge IS normality (as regards unis)- they were the first 2 unis in the country- like naelse said, it's other unis that deviate from the 'norm'. Technically the rules of Oxbridge are the rules of English universities (well you could kind of argue that anyway)
Umm, OK, just because Oxbridge have been around way longer than every other Uni doesn't automatically give them the authority to set the 'norm' in higher education. And if it's like that, it's rather sad really.
Society changes, and so does the 'norms'. It shouldn't matter how old a Uni is, rahter than its ability to reflect a 'norm' that is not outdated in todays society, 'cause let's face it, most 'norms' have changed throughout time.... Wouldn't it be like Oxbridge is burning wiccans at the stake, if their rules are suprior just 'cause they've been around for centruies...??
