I have taken some Kalms as I have the dentist tomorrow and I am dreading it. The only problem is I feel like I am falling alseep at the moment. I didn't think were supposed to make you feel tired.

It does have a slight amount of sedative I believe. If you take a small 30-40minute nap it wears off.

I have taken them before (several times actually on a regular basis) and they haven't had that affect on me. When i realised i would be taking them for a while, i looked at listed side effects and that didn't appear to be one of them... is there a possibility it's just a coincidence?

Whats artificial sleep :p:

Drugged sleep! (As in proper sleeping drugs)

I took them before one of my PGCE interviews and they made me worse, I felt sick all day and kept having to run to the loo (not nice). The interview before that I didn't take anything and I didn't feel half as nervous. They certainly didn't calm me.

yeah..and believe you me, you can really feel the difference between a 'natural' and 'artificial' sleep

Reply 8

they've never made me feel sleepy they do relax you though

Reply 9

never worked on me like that but did relax me like viviki said i prefer a bit of a joint tho lol only kidding

Reply 10

Kalms relaxed me and did make me feel a bit drowsy, also if ur going to dentists would they need to know about it?

Reply 11

reckon it would be ok if i took kalms before my next driving test? i get really panicked just thinking about the bloody thing

Reply 12

Where can I buy them? Does Boots or Tesco sell them?

Reply 13

I tried kalms and they didnt work for me (driving test). I suggest you try rescue remedy. You can get it from boots.

Rescue Remedy makes me sick! I tried it before my AS Music exam and I cannot stand it!

I have used Kalms before and they make me slightly sleepy, but one of the reasons why I was supposed to be taking them was so I could sleep better and get rest...

Reply 15

Isn't kalms a sleeping tablet..just herbal?

Reply 16

If you're going to try any of this sorta stuff, try it on a day when you don't have anything on, as a test run. Then if it makes you sick you don't have anything to lose.

Reply 17

I'd try Rescue Remedy any day over Kalms. Rescue Remedy works wonders for me, and never makes me feel sick. You can get it in a spray now, which is easier than a dropper. I've only ever had Kalms once and they made me really sleepy.

Kalms contain valerian extract, which has sedative properties, especially at higher doses (though the evidence about its efficacy as a treatment for insomnia is inconclusive).

I used to take them, I would take 4 or 6 for anxiety but they didnt do anything!
