just out of curiosity which uni's require BMAT/UKCAT
I know oxbridge require BMAT and Cardiff require the UKCAT i was just curious about others?

All unis except for BMAT ones (Oxbridge, Imperial, UCL) require UKCAT. Some of them deem it of higher important than others though - so a lot of people decide where they want to apply after getting their UKCAT score. This way you can maximise your chance of getting a place.

For BMAT it is highly rated by all the BMAT unis (ie. very important) with Oxford using it along with % of GCSEs at A* and Imperial and Cambridge and UCL using it to seperate applicants.

Personally I'm thinking of applying to Cambridge, one london one (either Kings or Imperial) and the two other ones (most likely out of Southampton, Leicester or Bristol) although I know it's early days.

Just thought I'd join the thread, although I am not certain to be applying for medicine. However I am in the process of getting some work experience.
Wow this thread is scaring me, talking about university, always think of it as years away and that I don't need to worry about it.

I know, but if you think about it, it's a couple of years then we'll be applying. D: Scary isn't it? :L

Ikr, what sections are you doing (i'm doing weimar, hitler and stalin) :]

Hopefully It'll be OK though

Argh, sorry for the late reply, I wrote out a really long one last night but my iPod messed up and didn't send it.

I'm doing (or rather, did) two US topics, The Roaring 20s and Race Relations, and then Hitler's Germany. I thought the paper was quite reasonable and I, dare I say it, maybe even liked it :P

no worries. i found it ok, although made a stupid mistake of writing half a page about nazi policy towards the jews pre-1933 which wasted loads of time.

It was actually alright, lthough I think my hand would beg to differ :P

Damn, did it specify after 1933? Didn't see that >.<
And haha, yeah, I had a two hour RS exam today too, my knuckles are killing me!

Ah well, hopefully we'll reap the benefits if we get into med school :P

Hey there! What A levels have you chosen?
Reply 97
I want to do medicine too
Then I want to specialise in child/adolescent psychiatry :colondollar: so interesting

Medic here too.

A week at a pharmacy
A week with a Neurosurgeon (Best one)
A week at a Care Home
A week a a Chiropractor
2 weeks at a Dentist (keeping options oven)

FUN FUN FUN!

Just a Female to Male consensus here, what genders are everyone?

Male +1

Remember all you lurkers, it isn't about what weeks at what places you get (that's luck at the end of the day), it's about what you gained and learned from the experience - putting the experience into work experience.
