    Hey Guys,

I'm just finishing Year 12 and filling out my UCAS form etc... and I really like the look of the Construction Engineering Management course at Loughborough.

I was wondering if there was anyone on the course right now who could tell me what it's like, or even just a little about the Uni, nightlife, SU and so on.

    Cheers,

    Jack

You'll be quite lucky to find someone on here on that particular course. If you have any more specific questions about the uni then there are people here who will happily answer them but that's kind of vague

The majority of the guys I lived with in my first year were Construction Management finalists, though I'm not sure it's the same? They were all sponsored by large construction firms, who I believe developed the course. It's four years long comprising of three years study and two half year placements. Sound about right?

Yeah, I had mine in December. You have two interviews, one with the staff and one with someone from a company.

The Loughborough people ask you about why you want to study there, why CEM, where you want to be in 10 years, that sort of thing, then they expect a few questions back!

Then when you get interview by the companies, it's a bit like 20 questions. They ask you things like where you've had experience in construction before, what kind of skills you can bring to the table and what is your biggest achievement to date.

It went O.K. for me, they offered me a place a week later :P

    Good luck!
