What are the girls at Imperial like?

As lame as I feel for writing this, I'm joining Imperial this October as an undergrad and have heard terrible rumours that everyone is male, and of the girls there are, none of them are particularly attractive.

This is what I've heard, not my words, mind you... and though I know this makes me seem very shallow, I would like to ask anyone, male or female, who is or has been to Imperial:

What is the girl situation?
Will I have to rely on my friends from my school (I live in London by the way) who are going to Kings, UCL etc?

And what makes you so sure that the Imperial girls won't have the exact same negative stereotypes about you?

Threads like these annoy me.

Imperial is actually an anagram of sausage fest... unlucky

Edit- seriously though are you expecting to meet your other half sitting next to you in your first lecture or sumthing... there are girls most places, and this is london...

What girls?

Seriously though, the ratio is about 70:30 I believe. Fortunately you're in London so not a massive disaster.

It isn't quite the sausage fest most people believe it to be. In fact the m:f ratio is 64:36.

Imperial Girls :daydreaming:

Many attractive girls around, but most of them ARE foreign and will probably have their own little groups. Not the best place for dating, definitely.

It is in London - a city where females easily outnumber males.

Also who would go to a university on the basis of the male:female ratio - surely factors like quality of qualification and career opportunities would be considered far more important?

Having been dating in London for quite a while now I know what it entails. I chose Imperial over, say, Bristol for career factors. With that in hand I wonder to what it extent it is worse for Bristol in terms of the female presence.

And as to those people who say girls may have negative stereotypes about people like me, it's fair possible. But unlikely. Since I'm beautifully handsome

Oh really? Since I'm pretty much one of the only girls in the thread I can say that the stereotypes for Imperial men are just as harsh as the ones for Imperial women.

Forget the girls, what are the men like at Imperial?

There are more single females in London than there are in Bristol. Surely your choice is obvious.

Also, why would girls have 'negative stereotypes' about you?
